MAPLEWOOD ENVIRONMENTAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE (EAC)
Established in 1990, the Maplewood Environmental Advisory Committee is a group of up to resident volunteers appointed by the Maplewood Township Committee. We provide expert advisory support on environmental issues, research local and federal regulations, and develop educational programs to promote sustainability and stewardship within our community.

The New Jersey Comfort Partners Program is a free program that helps income-eligible customers reduce their utility bills through implementing cost effective measures which save energy and money while improving their home's safety and comfort at no cost to them.

Maplewood Township has long been recognized as a leader in municipal sustainability in New Jersey. A Sustainable Jersey–certified community since 2009 and silver-certified since 2013, Maplewood has twice received the Sustainable Jersey Collaboration Award (2013 and 2016) for innovative partnerships and environmental leadership. Maplewood is also the only municipality in Essex County to achieve the Sustainable Jersey Gold Star in Health, reflecting a strong commitment to community well-being.
